Review: Amazingly quiet yet highly efficient, the Fellowes AP-300PH Air Purifier with PlasmaTRUE Technology does what it claims to do. Manual mode enables users to adjust the fan speed depending on their needs, from low and medium to high and turbo, while Auto mode easily adapts to the changes in air quality. In auto mode, the purifier usually stays on the lowest setting but it kicks up the fan speed when it detects odor or low air quality. It is quite sensitive though, making it awkward to use in certain situations. The display, while fancy and easy to operate, can be too bright and unnecessary. A switch to dim or reduce brightness would have made it less bothersome, especially during the night. The Fellowes AP-300PH Air Purifier has filter indicators that take the guesswork out of changing filters. Carbon filters for this unit are very affordable but the HEPA filter can be somewhat expensive to replace. Like most air purifiers, the AP-300PH would be hard to miss due to its size. Multiple units might be needed to cover an entire house but it is adequate when used in rooms measuring up to 300 square feet. The noise that the Fellowes AP-300PH creates is barely audible on the lowest setting and its level only rises slightly as it speeds up. The ionizer can be loud but users can easily disable it when needed. Ideal for seasonal allergies or daily use, the Fellowes AP-300PH Air Purifier has a True HEPA Filter which traps 99.97% of airborne particles that are 0.3 microns in diameter. The purifier eliminates common household odors in no time and conveniently reduces the amount of dust, resulting to a cleaner home and significantly better air quality.
