It does not have a built-in Wi-Fi but using an optional USB dongle, you can get updates from your Twitter and Facebook accounts and stream digital content like music, movies and videos from sites like Netflix, Pandora, Blockbuster, Vudu and YouTube. Using the Samsung Apps Platform, you can access even more content. This entry-level Blu-Ray disc player boasts of a functional design and a simple user interface. Its layout makes it easy to use while its glossy black finish complements your other A/V equipment. Unlike other remote controls, its buttons do not require extra effort because they are well-designed and very responsive. Other superior features include AllShare for connecting your digital devices easily, HDMI CEC for easy control over all your HDMI devices using one remote control, Progressive scan for outstanding clarity and HD upconversion and BD Wise for excellent video playback. With regards to connections, it has 1 HDMI output, 2 Channel Audio Out, Optical Digital Audio Outputs and 2 USB 2.0 ports for sharing and enjoying media content in the big screen. Although it has no 7.1 analog audio outputs, the Samsung BD-C5500 comes with Dolby True HD Technology which ensures that its audio matches the stunning image quality. In summary, it may not be the fastest player in the market but it offers excellent streaming capability and a wide array of features at a reasonable price.
