Pros: Great espresso machine, High quality, Elegant-looking, Easy to clean
Cons: Slow, Steep learning curve, Poor steaming wand

Review: The Gaggia Classic is a huge step in the right direction if you're tired of heading into the nearest coffee shop every morning. It is made in Italy and designed from the ground up to provide the highest quality, in terms of both coffee and construction. A brushed stainless steel body gives it a luxurious appearance and you won't find a lot of plastic parts. When using this machine, you can expect a steep learning curve and you're required to purchase a decent burr grinder as it plays a huge part in making truly-enjoyable cups. The Gaggia Classic is also slow, so it is not ideal for those who just want to make lattes and cappuccinos, but if you are very patient and you don't mind learning a few new things, we must say that it is well worth it. There's a 15-bar pump, a commercial-style portafilter and a 1,425-watt boiler that promises proper water temperature. For a dry puck, a 3-way solenoid valve is featured. You have the freedom to choose whether you want to use ground coffee or coffee pods. All the controls are easy to use and a temperature ready light is even added so that you'll know when it's time. The steaming wand is not that good though, presumably because of its position which is too low. Despite having a couple of minor issues, the Semi-automatic Gaggia Classic continues to be a favorite in most homes. It is perfect for enjoying espresso shots or making two cups. A 72-oz. water reservoir can be removed for easy cleaning and water filling, and a drip tray ensures that your countertop is mess-free. Along with the coffee machine, you'll also get a coffee tamper, a measuring scoop, single shot, double-shot and ESE filter baskets, and lastly, a manual and a DVD that provides you with all the instructions.
